Connecting Ring Pairs – Maddog Aviation
Connecting ring pairs are critical components for the safe connection and reliable release of tow cables.
All tow releases must be operated exclusively with ring pairs that comply with the Aeronautical Standard LN 65091 (current revision). Each compliant ring pair must be clearly stamped with the manufacturer’s identification and the applicable standard number.
Important Safety Requirements:

Welded rings are strictly prohibited.
The use of welded rings can damage tow releases, compromise safety, and void any applicable warranty. -
Correct sizing is essential.
Undersized, oversized, or deformed rings may jam within the release mechanism, preventing proper operation under load and posing a serious safety risk to the pilot. -
Regular inspection is mandatory.
All connecting ring pairs should be visually inspected and measured at routine intervals. Any ring pair that falls outside the specified tolerances must be replaced immediately.
