Description
Gas strut for our COBRA single-seater trailers.
We always recommend replacing both gas struts, for example to prevent the front door from closing and opening at an angle due to different gas strut strengths. In addition, different gas strut strengths can occur due to tolerances during filling, which is why we always send two gas struts from the same batch when ordering two gas struts. This ensures that the gas struts have the same strength and the same characteristics. If you use gas struts with possibly different strengths, the probability increases that the weaker gas strut will be damaged again due to additional load.
Version 22 mm
- The 22 mm gas strut version is our standard version and is installed in 95% of our standard single-seater trailers for the usual aircraft types with wingspans of 15m, 18m and also 21m.
- 22 mm indicates the diameter of the cylinder of the gas strut.
- The gas struts have a length of approx. 1150 mm center to center between the gas strut eyes.
- A clear identification of whether a 22 mm gas strut is installed is possible via the dimensions of the inner lifting arm sleeve, see image. The 22 mm version has an inner lifting arm sleeve with a cross-section of 25 x 25 mm.
- Max. gas spring force 1300 N
- Bore diameter of 8.5 mm at the top and 12.5 mm at the bottom
Version 28 mm
- The 28 mm gas strut version is only used in special cases where the gas strut strength must be greater than 1300 N.
- This can occur in particular with our +400 mm extended GRP single-seater trailers. You can also recognize an extended trailer by its chassis number: W0929... until 2013 or W0935... from 2013
- 28 mm indicates the diameter of the cylinder of the gas strut.
- The gas struts have a length of approx. 1150 mm center to center between the gas strut eyes.
- A clear identification of whether a 28 mm gas strut is installed is possible via the dimensions of the inner lifting arm sleeve, see image. The 28 mm version has an inner lifting arm sleeve with a cross-section of 30 x 30 mm.
- Bore diameter of 8.5 mm and bottom 12.5 mm
Trailer definition
- Standard single-seater trailers have an external chassis width of 1250 mm (rarely also 1350 mm or 1550 mm)
- Standard two-seater trailers have an external chassis width of 1550 mm
