The AIR Avionics AC-1 AIR COM is a next-generation aircraft radio module built for light sport aircraft, gliders, and motor gliders. It is the world's lightest and most compact fully TSO-certified radio, delivering crystal-clear digital audio, advanced frequency management, and optional Mode-S transponder control — all in a minimal 57mm form factor.
Exceptional Display & Controls
Paired with the AIR Control Display (ACD-57), the AC-1 features the largest display in its class — a brilliant colour screen that is perfectly readable in direct sunlight. Controls are simple and robust, designed to be used comfortably even in turbulence or with gloves. All frequencies, settings, and information are shown large and clear.
Crystal-Clear Digital Audio
The AC-1 features an all-new all-digital audio system delivering outstanding sound quality. Highlights include the innovative "Say Again" replay function and two independent audio configurations — ideal for motor gliders or open-cockpit aircraft where microphone setups change frequently. Dual Watch with separate volume control per channel is also supported.
Frequency Database & GPS Interface
The integrated frequency database allows quick selection of airport and airspace frequencies by name. With the GPS interface, a list of nearest airports and airspaces is displayed automatically, making frequency selection fast and intuitive. The database is updated via the integrated microSD card slot, which also stores user-defined frequencies.
Radio & Transponder in One 57mm Cutout
For the first time, COM radio control and Mode-S transponder control can be combined in a single compact 57mm instrument via the AIR Control Display. This saves valuable panel space and reduces installation costs — both radio and transponder share a single 57mm/2.25" panel cutout.
Flexible Installation
The AC-1 can be mounted directly on the back of an ACD-57 Air Control Display or installed remotely via cable. It draws very little power, making it suitable for aircraft without an electrical system. It is also compatible with Flight Deck systems including GARMIN® G3X Touch® and Dynon® SkyView®, making it an ideal second or third COMM in larger aircraft.
